Abstract
In this essay honoring the work of Professor Sompong Sucharitkul, I describe the aims and methods of the comparativist, concluding that in his work Professor Sucharitkul brought technical expertise and cultural awareness together to attain informed and reasoned awareness of different legal cultures.
