The Value of Learning - A Comparison between Kazakhstan and the United States

Abstract
Through a series of surveys, interviews and participant observation, this study uncovers the key sources of learning motivation among students in a University in Kazakhstan. This study outlines different motivational factors present in the student population. This paper then conducts an analysis of the institution's instructors use of teaching strategies used to motivate their students. Finally, the authors will provide a list of recommendations for faculty to utilize to assist in keeping college students motivated to learn.
