Abstract
In this chapter, the authors explore possible avenues for innovation in the library's most basic public access tool, the online catalog, drawing on features of successful analagous service models primarily from the commercial sector. Online retailers such as Amazon.com have raised the bar for the delivery of information, and this has raised expectations for library services that has relevance for the law librarian as well.
