Abstract
Despite widespread belief that internationalization and/or globalization of the curriculum is a necessity rather than an option, few articles exist documenting successful implementation of curriculum alternatives. This article documents the successes and failures of a fifteen year effort to simultaneously address community outreach, experiential learning and cultural immersion as components of a unique service-learning international marketing course. The authors provide a framework that can be replicated by other universities struggling with the internationalization issue in their marketing curriculum. Lessons learned from the past fifteen years of conducting the course are offered as are recommendations for implementation.
