Abstract
Social Learning Theory holds that learning can also take place via vicarious, or modeling, and self-control processes and cognitive personality dimensions such as self-efficacy. This paper attempts to rediscover an Indian Management Thought on ‘Social Learning’ from the Bhagavat Gita. It is found that the Bhagavat Gita provides, more than 5000 years ago, a social learning model integrating self-control process and self-efficacy leading to some interesting implications for the leaders, managers and teachers especially in the change-prone era.
