Abstract
Too many trial lawyers appear before appellate courts without realizing that the environment on appeal is a galaxy away from that of the trial courtroom. This article applauds efforts toward optimal training in law school for students to participate in handling criminal appeals, and provides a sample of advice and observations from the bench on how to write an appellate brief and manage a case on appeal.
