Abstract

Two great statesmen, Richelieu and Âli Pasha have left to the history their political testaments addressed to their respective rulers. Richelieu died in mid-17th century and Âli Pasha towards the end of 19th century. Two and a half centuries separate them. Yet, there is quite a similarity between the two testaments. Was Âli Pasha inspired from Richelieu’s testament or is it just a coincidence?
