Abstract

This short article celebrates the 50th anniversary of President Harry Truman's executive order authorizing the desegregation of America's armed forces. Discussed is the disparity between the levels of diversity in the military versus levels in corporations and universities. Also discussed is the role of the Tuskegee Airmen in the fight against racial segregation in the U.S. military.
