Abstract

The author reflects on the practice of apartheid in South Africa, noting its history as well as its legal dissolution in the elections of 1994. Particulars of the events and negotiations between rival political parties leading up to the 1994 elections are also discussed, as well as thoughts on the interim constitution, and the future of South Africa after these momentous events.
