Abstract

The authors, in this paper, look at what role can intermediate-sized cities like Taldykorgan play in urban/regional development policy in Kazakhstan in Central Asia. Connected to this is the issue of whether the city is experiencing limited growth, and the role(s) intermediate-sized cities such as Taldykorgan can play in urban/regional development policy in Kazakhstan. Several key urban revitalization strategies and ways to grow the city are recommended.
