Abstract

In this short essay, the author offers personal reflections on the interplay between faith and the intellectual life. The essay is the source of remarks that were delivered by the author in a panel entitled “What Faith Has to Do With the Intellectual Life” hosted by the Catholic University of America on January 18, 2011. It offers an explanation of five deep connections between faith and intellect from the perspective of a Catholic law professor, and then also highlights three challenges in integrating faith and intellect in academic life.
