Abstract

Indeed the burden of the external debt is the cankerworm that has bedeviled not only African counties but the third world counties as a whole. In this paper, the authors carefully "x-rayed" the scenario and arrived at a conclusion that with pragmatic and sustained economic reform, Nigeria will see the light under the tunnel. According to the recent CBN report, the Nigerian external reserve has risen to about $41.25 billion while the inflation rate has come down to 13 percent.
