Abstract
This piece, co-written with a practicing mediator, appeared in Mediation Ethics (E. Waldman, ed.). Each author describes how he or she would deal with two hypothetical situations in which mediation participants are suspected of being untruthful with each other and the mediator. As part of their discussion the authors discuss the application of the Model Standards of Conduct for Mediators to each situation.
