Abstract

National retirement policy fails to provide individuals access to high-quality, unbiased information concerning how to save and invest for retirement. This article argues that employers and the Department of Labor are ill-suited to fill this informational void. The article proposes that the Social Security Administration should transform its role to become the preeminent governmental education source for workers who want to learn how to plan, save, and invest for retirement.
