Abstract
This is a review of six books on the topic of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). The literature addresses diverse audiences, some authors targeting the general public, others targeting the traditional players in our justice system – namely, lawyers, judges and court administrators. The six works, published between 1988 and 1990, which are reviewed include the following: Peter Lovenheim’s Mediate Don’t Litigate; Harold Paddock’s Settlement Week; Nancy Rogers and Craig McEwen’s Mediation: Law-Policy-Practice; Linda Singer’s Settling Disputes; William Ury, Jeanne Brett, and Stephen Golderg’s Getting Disputes Resolved, and John Wilkinson’s Donovan Leisure Newton and Irvine ADR Practice Book.
