Abstract
In Milner Ball’s “Law Natural: Its Family of Metaphors and its Theology,” Ball depicts law through a complex series of metaphors. This article is a response to Ball’s theory of law as metaphor, taking the analysis of metaphor one level deeper by deconstructing the “mythology” created by the system of metaphors. Through this deconstruction, this article examines whether the concept of law as metaphor sheds further light on the nature of law.
