Abstract

This study will trace the biblical and historical manifestations of glossolalia, (Speaking in Tongues), as it occurred in the context of first century Christianity and moved through the ages, culminating in the twentieth century. This report will explore the meaning and psychological consequences resulting from the glossolalia experience. Once these objectives have been met, this inquiry will briefly analyze and integrate the biblical text into a meaningful resolution drawing its conclusions from the evidence presented in this report.
