The twenty-first century’s newest frontier, the internet, once humbly infinite and wild, now turns slowly to restricted and marginalized. Like any new frontier, the internet attracts the inevitable consequences of human nature, the desire to occupy and compete. As a result, these internet ‘domain disputes’ offer a new and complex setting for international dispute resolution and arbitration.
