Abstract

Legal Process Outsourcing is a buzz word for legal services industry in the Western World and after Doha round of WTO, it promises whole new world of opportunity to India to strengthen its position as vanguard of service and offshoring industry. But despite of all the hype the industry is still in niche stage and facing a fatal challenge in form of attrition. There is no one root cause for the problem but rather several reasons and their resulting force which leads to the loss of most valuable resource of legal industry i.e. PEOPLE.

This paper attempts to analyze the causes for the attrition form social, economic, psychological, economic, geographical & business model point of view and ultimately to reach at conclusion as to what changes can be introduced in the organizational working of the LPO in order to decrease the attrition to minimum possible level. Apart form this, the opinion of various stake holders in the country about the LPO industry like Bar Council, People form LPO industry, Teachers, Students and Employees in LPO industry about their understanding of development and direction of Legal industry in India.

All of these in combination will lead to creation of a business model which is beneficial to Industry as well as to employees resulting in optimum satisfaction for both.
