Abstract

In this preliminary paper, we primarily report descriptive data. We are currently completing regression analysis involving the amounts of foreign language programming available and we are in the process of obtaining and analyzing Arbitron radio listening data to correspond with the programming availability data we have collected.

We begin in Section II below with a brief theoretical discussion of the expected relationship between the availability of specialized programming and the size of audience groups to which that programming is directed. We then discuss our database and methodology, followed by some tables of descriptive data.
