Abstract

One’s worldview is a very personal and deeply philosophical construct. Here are experiences and events that aid in determining and shaping the way in which human beings perceive the world. It is imperative to look for multiple perspectives. Creating a sustainable worldview requires a level of humility and a desire to seek answers by questioning oneself; even to the very foundations of one’s core beliefs and preconceptions. One’s leadership and scholarship are greatly affected by the lens through which one perceives the world. The individual scholar and leader must strive to gain as complete an understanding of his or her worldview as possible. Further, the scholar or leader must take the question of how his or her worldview will affect others to heart. Finally, scholars and leaders strive to critically examine arguments and theories in order to constructively interpret them. A postmodern theistic interpretation, while certainly not perfect, could aid in this understanding and lead to effective growth.
