Abstract

Right from the advent of Islam in the West Africa, the urge to study Islam and Arabic among the natives has always been very strong. Various methods have been adopted in this area for the study of twin discipline. The transformational changes in the methodology of the study of Arabic and Islam are not unconnected with the continuous changes in civilization and culture. The aim of this paper is to examine the methodological changes in the studies of Arabic and Islam, particularly in Nigeria, taking into cognisance the current realities of the globalised world.
