Abstract
Traditional legal definitions and concepts may need altering in response to technologies that advance faster than our jurisprudence can respond. Rapidly advancing technologies hold the potential to create what we refer to as humankind. Major areas of Anglo-American law may need to be extended in response to the impact upon culture and society that advances in cyberspace and biotechnologically integrated artificial intelligence bring. For example, the concept of personhood currently extends to living human beings and to a limited segment of non-humans, like legally-formed corporations. Such concepts may need to be extended to accommodate different forms of embodiment created by virtuality media, artificial intelligence, and other advanced technologies.
