Abstract

There are numerous methods which can be used to manage water demands. Even though many methods have been considered and have been adopted, the data and statistical analyses which would indicate the probable impact of these policies on water use are limited. This is particularly true for water use restrictions. Although various types of water use restrictions have been widely used, primarily during droughts and short-term emergencies, there are no studies which rigorously quantify the probably impact that restrictions have on water use.
