Abstract

Was the Erie decision a "supreme mistake?" In responding to Professor Suzanna Sherry's contention that Erie is one of the worst decisions by the Supreme Court, I take up the question whether there is any redemptive value in that decision and what the future holds for Erie in theory and practice.
