Abstract

This essay, written for the Green Bag Micro-Symposium on Suzanna Sherry's "Why We Need More Judicial Activism," argues that Sherry has successfully reappropriated the phrase, seizing a disparaging label and converting its meaning into something positive and celebrated. In other words, what LGBT activists have done with "queer," Sherry has now done with "judicial activism."
