Abstract

The International Human Rights Regime involves International and Regional Human Rights Legal Instruments as well as Human Rights Mechanisms such as the UN Human Rights System as well as the American, African and European Regional Human Rights Systems. In spite of the functional existence of these mechanisms, human rights violations are prevalent worldwide.

This article examines comprehensively the philosophical as well as legal and political framework of the International Human Rights Regime in light of its gradual development in the twentieth century.
