Abstract
The article systematizes typologies of scholarship on Africa by the identity and ideological orientation of the authors and historical periods. It argues that distinctly several constituencies of scholars and authors on Africa have produced divergent streams of scholarship on international law and Africa. It concludes that Third World Approaches to International Law, or TWAIL, which is both rejectionist and reconstructionist, is the most penetrating of these schools of thought.
