Abstract

From 1991 to 2007, Professor DuVivier authored The Scrivener, a bimonthly column on legal writing for Colorado’s state bar journal, THE COLORADO LAWYER. Professor DuVivier’s approach in her 97 Scrivener columns was to render each topic, from communication to commas, both understandable and entertaining. While many columns covered basics, others brought her unique perspective, e.g., The Aikido Technique for Rebutting Opposing Authority (Jan. 2002); Vulcan Mind Melds and Picture Windows (Jan. 2004); and Learn to Write “Like the Man on the Six O’clock News” (Nov. 2006). This collection lists all column titles and includes some of the “best-of” The Scrivener series.
