Abstract
This essay, prepared for the Notre Dame Law Review Symposium, “The Evolution of Theory: Discerning the Catalysts of Constitutional Change,” reviews five recent monographic studies of the constitutional crisis of the 1930s and the jurisprudence of the Supreme Court during the Chief Justiceship of Charles Evans Hughes.
