Abstract

The following is an adaptation of the Dialogue that took place on the campus of the University of Baltimore School of Law during the 2012 Applied Feminism and Democracy: 2012 Feminist Legal Theory Conference, on March 2, 2012.

Prof. Johnson introduces Senator Mikulski, and proceeds with a question and answer session regarding the Senator's role in the U.S. Senate, beginning with her background, and how it led to her current role in politics. In the dialogue, particular attention is paid to her role as a woman in what traditionally was a political career dominated by men, how she learned the ropes, those who helped her along the way, and the challenges she faced.
