Abstract

The power of women to negotiate, trade and barter their consent to sex could be perceived as an empowering capacity. The heart of the problem has always been the gender based double standard toward practicing sex prevailing in society. It is precisely the recognition and legitimacy of sex commensurability that might serve as a key toward neutralizing the women humiliation dimension of heterosexual intercourse.
