Abstract

This paper examines through case studies (an undergraduate clinical program and a practical legal education advice clinic) the scope for existing indicators for evaluating the outcomes, effectiveness and quality of legal assistance services in Australia to be used to assess the performance of student participations in clinic. It explores how two particular indicators – ‘a good client interview’ and ‘quality community legal education’ can be utilised to also assess the quality of student engagement.
