Abstract
This book review of "Baseball on Trial: The Origin of Baseball's Antitrust Exemption," by Nathaniel Grow (University of Illinois Press, 2014), assesses new research on the notorious 1922 Federal Baseball opinion of Supreme Court Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes and the author's conclusion that "strategic -- and in some cases questionable -- decisions by counsel" contributed to the anomaly that a single sport enjoys an antitrust immunity.
