Abstract
If there is any single feature of law as an intellectual study that sets it apart from other subjects, it is the sheer variety of theoretical analyses that have been brought to bear upon it. From economics, to history, to political theory, and even to abstract logic, law stands apart from other disciplines as a most sought after subject for theoretical scrutiny. Far from engaging in any discourse across these topical boundaries, legal theoreticians have, with few exceptions, managed to maintain recognizable theoretical camps and have engaged in little sympathetic analysis of one another's work.
