Abstract

This case abstract and others in this collection of actual business, finance, and bank decision situations bridge the gap between an understanding of the theories, concepts, tools, and techniques of financial management and an ability to use such knowledge to solve problems and/or make decisions related to the financial management of the business firm.

Euphoria Maritime Company: Bank loan officer faces a term-loan request from a shipping company for the purpose of acquiring a shipping charter to carry oil. The ship to be used under the charter was built with a mortgage loan from the Maritime Administration to the firm's wholly-owned subsidiary.
