Landscape and Leisure Outdoor Recreation in Gieten-Drenthe, Netherlands

Abstract

The project team of Drenthe landscape is aiming to collect information of different strategies in different European countries and make discussion on different views at European level. The focuses are not only in crowded areas but urban regions in the countryside as well. This report of outdoor recreation, tourism and landscapes in Drenthe mainly discusses the current situation in Drenthe’s landscape. With the fieldwork and site observation analysis, the overall objective is that how outdoor recreation could contribute to the development of attractive cultural and natural landscapes in the province of Drenthe.
