Abstract

This short piece offers a response to and commentary on Stavros Gadinis’ lead article in the American Journal of International Law: Three Pathways to Global Standards: Private, Regulator, and Ministry Networks, 109 AJIL 4 (2015). It takes issue with a number of the assumptions embedded in the three network prototypes on which Gadinis’ article dwells and suggests further lines of inquiry that the study of global governance by, within, and across networks might pursue.

Keywords: international & comparative law; global governance; networks; international institutions; transnational standard setting
