Abstract

This is a commentary on the final TPP IP Chapter as published on 5 November 2015. It is one of three parts. In this Part 1, I analyse the general provisions (Part A), and the rules on trade mark, GIs, and designs. There is commentary on each individual provision, and a quick comparison with other multilateral and bilateral treaties in order to contextualise the provisions. The material here is necessarily preliminary and does not purport to be complete. It is published on the basis that it may assist others’ analysis and commentary to have available a careful textual analysis and comparison.
