Abstract

The dual crisis of emerging epidemiology and severe funding shortages gives rise to "Generation Zika," including fetuses, infants, and children of pregnancies negatively affected by the virus. With hundreds of thousands of current and future pregnancies among American women in Zika’s path, the ranks of Generation Zika may soon swell further. Their fate is determined in part by the lack of global and national funding for efficacious public health interventions.

Keywords: Zika, reprodcutive rights, funding, national security
