Abstract

The adoption of service robots by both hospitality companies and end consumers raises many questions regarding how companies will adapt to this new technology. The paper investigates how hospitality firms (hotels, restaurants, bars, etc.) need to (re)design their facilities in order to make them accessible for robots. The paper emphasises that robot-friendliness of facilities would be a new source of competitive advantage for hospitality companies in the future.

Keywords: robots, design of hospitality facilities, competitive advantage, robot-inclusive environment
