Abstract

Administrative Recourse in Canon Law is short entry of approximately 2,800 words to appear in the DICTIONARY OF CANON LAW (Liturgical Press 2007, J. Conn & J. Provost, eds.). The article consists of four sections. The first section offers a general description of administrative recourse in the canon law of the Roman Catholic Church. Section Two attempts to sharpen the focus of the discussion by defining the object of the administrative process in canon law. Section Three situates the discussion of administrative justice in the theological context of communio based upon the doctrine of Vatican II. The final section provides an overview of the procedure for administrative justice pursuant to the 1983 Code of Canon Law.
