Abstract

The financial industry has changed tremendously in the last couple of decades. The level of innovation and change that has taken place has changed the international banking industry and has also brought with it certain risks. The position taken here is that a certain amount of risk taking is necessary in the financial industry. I deal here with three main risk categories facing international banking today: strategic risks, model risk and endogenous risks and seek to reach some conclusions on how to deal with them.
