Reneging: A Topic to Promote Engaging Discussions About Law and Ethics in a Business Law or Legal Environment Course

Abstract
A recent study showed only one-third of young adults see any problem with reneging on a job contract. This paper reviews the law and ethics of reneging and suggests options for presenting the reneging issue. It assesses the content of student papers on reneging and reports results of a pre- and post-course survey on student attitudes toward reneging, permitting modest conclusions about the effect of a legal studies course on student thinking.
