Abstract

Predictions are a risky business, all the more so when Israel is involved. According to Jewish tradition, ever since the destruction of the Temple, the gift of prophecy was given to the fools. In modern times, futurism has been the realm of fantasy fiction or a restricted alleyway of the social sciences. I belong to neither discipline. So the following excursion into the future, or more accurately the futures, of Israeli society, is strictly an exercise in commenting on the present.

Keywords: Israel, future scenarios
