Abstract

This paper explores new studies that the brain is not fully developed until an individual's mid-20s and how that impacts college students' sensitivities to high-risk behavior. The paper provides suggestions for campus administrators about how to transform the challenges associated with students' attractions to risky behavior into opportunities to help students mature. The paper also proposes policy suggestions and contains information about fire safety and the Amethyst Initiative.
