Abstract

The states of the European Union ('EU') comprise China's biggest commercial partner and trade between it and the EU states is continuing upward. However, recent times have brought about an increasing number of commercial cross-border disputes between the Chinese business domiciles and traders in the EU states. In that regard, the article provides an overview of the recognition and enforcement of the judgments of EU states/foreign courts by Chinese courts. It also looks at the relative risks and the issues involved for EU traders in judgments enforcement in China.
