Abstract
The author points out that law books are used - often inappropriately - in many US and Canadian television programs. They are used, because of their ready (and cheap) availability, as fillers for bookcases in scenes in programs set in hospitals, the homes of superheroes and even on distant planets. Even when used in law-related settings, law books are often used inappropriately, being mixed up, or used in the wrong country - e.g., Canadian law books serving as a backdrop in the office of a US District Attorney.
