Abstract

Alexandre Kojeve has been a mirage of continental philosophic thought. He has been said to have been a major influence on nearly all of French postmodern thought, to have had a significant impact on the formation of Europe as a bureaucrat and to have dominated French foreign policy in the post-war period. This paper tries to separate myth from fact and to introduce to Kojeve's Hegelian philosophy.

Keywords: Kojeve, Hegel, European Union, France
