Abstract

The paper maps publication outcomes of Czech sociologists and focuses on productivity in basic research within the last decade. The methodology we employ is similar to that used in recently published work analyzing the productivity of Czech economists. Our work is based on data from the Web of Science and covers the 1998 to 2007 period. Publication outcomes for sociology are presented within the context of the whole field of social sciences and humanities. The productivity of individual authors is based on data about published articles, impact factors of journals, co-author shares and citations.
